About Run Amok
Run Amok Coaching launched in 2023 with the goal of bringing flexible, tailored coaching to runners and aspiring runners at all levels of experience. Run Amok offers fully virtual coaching, which means that we can reach runners anywhere and everywhere.
At Run Amok, we believe that the joy that comes from running should be experienced by all.
We believe that hard work must be balanced with intentional rest and recovery.
We believe that mindset matters and that the mental roadblocks are always surmountable.
Most importantly, we believe that there’s room for everyone at the start (and finish!) line.
We’ll see you there (:
Meet the Coach
Sara Goodman
Founder & Coach: Run Amok
Sara Goodman is the founder and coach at Run Amok. Sara dabbled in running as a high school track athlete, but left it behind in college and graduate school as academic work became all-consuming. In 2017, she pulled a Forrest Gump and …just started running. At first, completing one mile without dying was a seemingly impossible task to accomplish. But a few months, lots of walk-running, and some stubbornness later, she tackled her first half marathon.
Since 2018, Sara has completed more than a dozen half marathons, countless 5K races, and has logged thousands of miles. For Sara, running is a source of joy, stress relief, and a way to prove herself wrong a lot (which is a nice exercise in humility, if we’re being honest).
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sara became certified as a Level 1 Run Coach through the Road Runners Club of America. She is currently pursuing additional training, professional development, and certification in other areas of run coaching. Sara loves working with runners at all levels of experience: helping athletes defy their own beliefs about what is possible never gets old.
When she’s not running, thinking about running, or talking about running with other people, Sara works as a psychology professor at a small university. (Her expertise is in motivation and mindset: the perfect domain for a running coach!) She spends her spare time gardening, enjoying local wineries & breweries with her husband, and watching Gilmore Girls over and over.
